Why Educational Fund
Primary education is free and compulsory for eight years. Children start school at the age of six and spend eight years at primary school. High School/Secondary School is four years but not free; and a further four years at the university, which you also have to pay. The fee paid to get high school education has forced a large percentage of young Kenyans not to be able to go past their primary schooling. I It is for this reason that Farova started awarding good but unable students with scholarships. There are four main universities in Kenya. Kenyatta University was founded in 1972 and is located in Nairobi. The University of Nairobi was founded in 1956 as the Royal Technical College of East Africa. The Moi University was founded in 1984 at Eldoret. The Egerton University, located at Njoro, was founded in 1939. Farova Educational Fund is striving to ensure that education is the best gift someone can give back to the community. By supporting Farova Educational Fund you are filling an empty seat in the class room and securing the streets.
The Bailey's support to Educational Fund
Farova was pleased to receive $500 from Mr. Jerry Bailey, Mrs Ginger Bailey, Mr. Marc and Mrs. Janice Schecter respectively. Ginger Bailey said, “There are no words to describe the overwhelming presence of God I felt in the conversation with Farova officials" Mrs. Bailey added that, the mission is to assist the young ladies to get an education that will help them in the future. How Farova dispersed the $ 500 as:$100 Sudi Azkia, $100 Natasha Nyambura, $100 Valentine Nekesa, $100 Sheila Kabaka and $100 Sharon Ajwang.
